Genital rejuvenation and treatment with fillers
Over the last ten years the demand for restorative and reconstructive procedures performed to correct and improve the cosmetic appearance and sexual function of female genital organs has significantly increased. As the labia and vaginal wall gradually loose elasticity and volume with age they become thinner, dehydrated and saggy. This process can also be influenced by a traumatic childbirth and accelerates after the menopause due to falling oestrogen levels. Following the loss of ovarian activity the labia majora (the outermost lips surrounding the vagina) loose subcutaneous fat while connective tissue relaxes and becomes less elastic. A decrease in the tone and volume of the labia majora sees them become deflated and saggy; while the labia minora ( the inner lips) increase in size. These changes in the appearance of the labia can lead to decreased self-esteem and embarrassment especially with a new partner. Furthermore the chronic irritation and discomfort which sometimes develops from wearing tight trousers or jeans can affect a woman’s enjoyment of physical activities such as cycling or certain exercise classes.
A decrease in the blood supply to the ageing female intimate area further leads to reduction in sexual sensation resulting in sexual dysfunction and an unsatisfying sex life. Although this may all sound rather gloomy the good news is that the vaginal and vulval appearance and function can be improved through surgical and non-surgical treatments. The invasive surgical procedures are nowadays often abandoned in favour of minimally invasive ones, which are associated with much less trauma. The injection of Hyaluronic Acid in many cases enlarges the labia majora sufficiently to cover labia minora without the need for invasive surgical labioplasty.
Two of the most popular ways in which the genital area can be rejuvenated non surgically and which are both offered in our clinic are by injections of Hyaluronic Acid filler and by Laser rejuvenation & Nonsurgical Laser Labioplasty Alternative (NLLA)
Hyaluronic Acid is a naturally occurring biopolymer increasing tissue hydration, elasticity and plumpness. Hyaluronic acid infiltration of the labia majora is able to provide a significant rejuvenation with a simple outpatient procedure. The treatment is very safe, has virtually no complications, can be repeated and it is reversible.
We use the latest generation, highest concentration and the only organic Hyaluronic Acid filler -Neauvia Intense Rose.

Questions you may have about vaginal filler treatment.
Labia rejuvenation with Neauvia Intense Rose & how it is done
It is a procedure involving injecting Neauvia Intense Rose filler into labia majora to increase their fullness through enlargement. The filler hydrates the skin and mucosa, additionally rejuvenating the treated area by stimulating fibroblasts to produce collagen.
The treatment is carried out under a local anaesthetic injected by Dr Reid to make the area numb during the procedure. A small cannula is then introduced superficially into each labia and the filler injected. The loss of volume and any asymmetry gets instantly corrected. The labia are then massaged gently to reshape and distribute the filler. The whole procedure on labia lasts 15 – 30 min and does not require a recovery period.
Vaginal rejuvenation with Neauvia Intense Rose & how it’s done
It is a procedure involving injecting the filler into the anterior and posterior vaginal wall to increase their volume and thickness while creating firmer and tighter vaginal canal. This helps to achieve a better sensation during the intercourse. It also helps to lubricate the vagina through the increased hydration of vaginal mucosa.
After the cleaning and injecting the area with the local anaesthetic, the filler is carefully administered via a cannula into the anterior and posterior vaginal wall just under the vaginal mucosa.
Vaginal augmentation usually requires larger volumes of filler and takes a bit longer, up to 45 min.
The effect should last 1-2 years.
What is G shot & how it’s done
It is a localised injection of the Neuvia Intense Rose filler into a small approximately bean size area in the anterior vaginal wall called G spot, which is most receptive to sexual stimulation. G shot is a method of amplifying and augmenting this area for better sexual sensation. The procedure which is done under a local anaesthetic is fast, painless and takes up to 10 minutes.
The effect should last 6 to 12 months.
What can I expect after the procedure
- Fuller, rejuvenated labia majora (outer lips)
- Less protruding labia minora (inner lips )
- Restored symmetry and more comfort
- Tighter more lubricated vagina
- Enhanced sexual sensation
The effect is instant and should further improve in the next few weeks.
The injected area may be initially slightly uncomfortable, but this should settle in a day or two. There may be some minor redness or bruising from the injection. A script for an oral prophylactic antibiotic for three days may be offered after the more extensive procedure.
After labia augmentation, you should refrain from sexual activity and some other activities such as cycling and horse riding for seven days. After vaginal augmentation and G shot you should refrain from sexual activity for 7 hours.
Dr Reid will provide you with a full post-procedure advice.
Dr Reid will contact you the next day to check how you are feeling. Additional follow up can be arranged if required.
How long will the effect last?
It depends on many factors such as your age, fluid intake, lifestyle, your metabolism, the amount of injected filler. Neauvia Intense Rose has the maximum currently available concentration of Hyaluronic Acid 28mg/ ml which significantly enhances its longevity. The result of labia and vaginal augmentation with Neauvia Intense Rose lasts approximately 1-2 years. The result of G spot augmentation lasts 6 up to 12 months. The results can vary among patients.
What are the contraindications to treatment
- Active inflammation/infection at the injection site
- Malignancy in the area
- History of allergic reaction to Hyaluronic Acid
- Autoimmune conditions affecting vulva and vagina
