Conditions and treatments at The Women’s Clinic
Skin conditions and treatments
We offer a wide range of anti-aging skin treatments to rejuvenate your appearance alongside skin tag removal and specialist fractional laser resurfacing to eliminate stretchmarks and treat acne scarring and conditions like Seborrheic hyperplasia (enlarged sebaceous glands).
We operate the advanced and effective CO2RE® fractional laser for skin resurfacing, whereby a fraction of the top layer of your skin is removed to surface the more youthful-looking skin beneath.
It’s a very safe way to remove damaged skin, promoting the natural healing process whilst stimulating the production of your natural collagen.
Our highly empathetic and discrete approach is backed up by the vast experience of our founder Amanda Pook, who has treated thousands of women over the past 20 years.
The Women’s Clinic welcomes self-pay, private patients at our Glasgow and Birmingham clinics. Our pricing is transparent with no hidden extras.
Skin treatments at The Women’s Clinic
Acne and Acne Scars
We are expert in treating the root cause of acne and removing or visibly reducing acne related scarring. Our thorough 3-step acne treatment combines a skin scan, Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), CO2RE fractional laser resurfacing and a homecare plan with specialist products and face wash. We also use fractional CO2 laser to precision target acne scarring on the face, chest or back and promote generation of new and healthy collagen.
We can help rejuvenate your appearance by tackling age-related skin laxity, wrinkles, pigmentation, scars and many other skin conditions. Using the highly advanced CO2RE fractional laser by Candela – we’re one of the few UK clinic teams trained to operate this revolutionary system – we apply dual laser waves that resurface the skin leaving a brighter more youthful and rejuvenated looking appearance
Skin Tag Removal
We have decades experience removing skin tags and have perfected the combination method of cauterisation with YAG (Yttrium Aluminum Garnet) laser and laser excision with CO2 laser, which restricts any further growth and emergence of the tag. In most instances the small scar left heals to become undetectable. We can excise multiple skin tags in one relatively painless and short session.
We can help smooth out and conceal stretchmarks while restoring smoother and more elastic skin by stimulating your natural collagen. We do this by applying the CO2RE Fractional laser for resurfacing the affected skin area. Not only is this method way less invasive than surgery, but it works in a faction of the time that topical creams might take and the CO2 laser is proven to deliver up to a 75% reduction in noticeable stretch marks after just a few treatments. We can treat stretchmarks in men as well as women and also tackle deeper wrinkles, severe skin laxity and hyper pigmentation.
Other treatment areas at The Women’s Clinic
We are one of few UK clinics operating the advanced CO2RE Intima Laser Medical Laser, allowing our expert clinical team to perform labial reductions and reshaping with great precision and under local anaesthetic.
Our delicate laser can remove excess skin around the labia majora, reshape protruding or asymmetrical labia minora, and remove discoloured areas.
Treatments For Menopause-Related Conditions
We are a women-led clinic, expert in treating menopausal, peri-menopausal and post-menopausal conditions. We are one of just a few UK clinics equipped with the revolutionary CO2RE® Intima laser, an FDA-approved and proven non-surgical treatment that restores vaginal architecture and environment for conditions like Vaginal Atrophy, Laxity, Prolapse and Dryness.
Intima for Vaginal Health
We use the revolutionary CO2RE Intima laser to treat painful vulva and vaginal opening or vulvodynia, a common condition around the perimenopause or menopause. Using a single-use hygienic wand on the vulva tissue, CO2RE is proven to reduce pain, with almost 70% of patients reporting a significant improvement.
We also treat itchy vulva, episiotomy scars and vulval and groin lesions using the CO2RE Intima laser combined with a local anaesthetic.
