Menopause – dealing with the hidden physical fallout

The arrival of the menopause in a woman’s life heralds a time of intense physical, hormonal and emotional change which can be difficult to endure. It doesn’t help that women often feel unable to speak openly about the issues they experience – and as a result they can miss out on treatments which could help them.

At the Woman’s Clinic we’re here to help make sure that you get the kind of care that can make a real difference to your quality of life.

As well as visible physical effects such as weight changes or aches and pains, women going through menopause often also experience more hidden symptoms, including:

  • Loss of libido
  • Discomfort, sensitivity, and dryness pre- and post-intercourse
  • Excessive wetness
  • Loss of sensation and orgasm during intercourse
  • Mild prolapse
  • A feeling of heaviness in the pelvic region

Many of these symptoms can be attributed to a loss of elasticity – just as we notice our skin sagging more on the outside, so the same effect can happen within our more intimate areas.

There are two very safe options to combat and correct most of these issues:

The CO2RE Intima Laser for vaginal rejuvenation helps restores the tissue quality and bulk within the vagina. This can help with mild to moderate urinary stress incontinence, laxity of the vagina, sensitivity and soreness with both exercise and intercourse around the entrance to the vagina, tissue damage caused by childbirth and episiotomy scars, and dryness.

Vaginal filler injections can also assist with the loss of tissue and loss of sensitivity and orgasm. The Women’s Clinic uses the world’s first safe organic hyaluronic vaginal filler, Neauvia Rose, which can be safely injected within the vagina and even directly to the G-spot (sometimes known as a G-shot or O-shot). Neauvia Rose can provide instant results for most women who suffer from lack of sensitivity and laxity caused by wear and tear, hormone loss and childbirth.

Neauvia Rose and CO2RE Intima can be safely used together to allow for optimum function of the ageing vagina and help restore a woman’s natural confidence in her sexuality with age.

Other applications

Questions you may have about vaginal filler treatment.

Labia rejuvenation with Neauvia Intense Rose & how it is done

Labial rejuvenation is a procedure involving injecting Neauvia Intense Rose filler into labia majora to increase their fullness through enlargement. The filler hydrates the skin and mucosa, additionally rejuvenating the treated area by stimulating fibroblasts to produce collagen.

The treatment is carried out under a local anaesthetic injected by our specialist practitioners to make the area numb during the procedure. A small cannula is then introduced superficially into each labia and the filler injected. The loss of volume and any asymmetry gets instantly corrected. The labia are then massaged gently to reshape and distribute the filler. The whole procedure on labia lasts 15 – 30 min and does not require a recovery period.

Vaginal rejuvenation with Neauvia Intense Rose & how it’s done

Vaginal rejuvenation is a procedure involving injecting vaginal filler into the anterior and posterior vaginal wall just inside the vagina to increase their volume and thickness while creating a firmer and tighter vaginal canal. This helps to achieve a better sensation during the intercourse. It also helps to lubricate the vagina through the increased hydration of vaginal mucosa.

Vaginal augmentation usually requires larger volumes of filler and takes a bit longer, up to 45 min.

The effect should last 1-2 years.

What is G shot & how it’s done

It is a localised injection of the Neuvia Intense Rose filler into a small approximately bean size area in the anterior vaginal wall called G spot, which is most receptive to sexual stimulation. G shot is a method of amplifying and augmenting this area for better sexual sensation. The procedure which is done under a local anaesthetic is fast, painless and takes up to 10 minutes.

The effect should last 12 months.

What can I expect after the procedure
  • Fuller, rejuvenated labia majora (outer lips)
  • Less protruding labia minora (inner lips )
  • Restored symmetry and more comfort
  • Tighter more lubricated vagina
  • Enhanced sexual sensation

The effect is instant and should further improve in the next few weeks.

The injected area may be initially slightly uncomfortable, but this should settle in a day or two. There may be some minor redness or bruising from the injection. A script for an oral prophylactic antibiotic for three days may be offered after the more extensive procedure.

After labia augmentation, you should refrain from sexual activity and some other activities such as cycling and horse riding for seven days. After vaginal augmentation and G shot you should refrain from sexual activity for 7 days.

We will provide you with a full post-procedure advice.

We will contact you the next day to check how you are feeling. Additional follow up can be arranged if required.

How long will the effect last?

It depends on many factors such as your age, fluid intake, lifestyle, your metabolism, the amount of injected filler. Neauvia Intense Rose has the maximum currently available concentration of Hyaluronic Acid 28mg/ ml which significantly enhances its longevity. The result of labia and vaginal augmentation with Neauvia Intense Rose lasts approximately 1-2 years. The result of G spot augmentation lasts up to 12 months. The results can vary among patients.

What are the contraindications to treatment
  • Pregnancy
  • Breastfeeding
  • Active inflammation/infection at the injection site
  • Malignancy in the area
  • History of allergic reaction to Hyaluronic Acid
  • Autoimmune conditions affecting vulva and vagina
